Theodore Thumbs Needs Your Help!

I posted earlier that I was working on a children's book, with the great Steven Moore (he wrote it, I'm illustrating it).

The story is about a young boy, Theodore, who is taunted in school. When he's uneasy, nervous, anxious, or sad, he finds comfort in sucking his thumb. And boy, does Theodore have a lot of awful moments! In the end, his parents find a way to encourage him, telling him he's Thumbtastic! Everyone in the neighborhood cheers him on, showing that words of encouragement can go a long way in sprouting a person's joy.

Now that I've told you the synopsis, we need your help! We really want this book published so little children everywhere can hear Theodore's precious story. Now, I'm not asking for any money, rather networking. We need the word out on Theodore because publishers are hard to convince apparently. If you know of ANYONE interested in propelling Theodore further into publication, please let us know. We could use any advice as well to make this project a success.

My email is mpd06a@acu.edu, and if you need my phone number, just email me for it.

Steven Moore's email is: sxm00b@acu.edu

Below is an excerpt from the book:

Obviously, Theodore would be doing better if we had publishers backing us up! So please, spread the word!

Lastly, if you would like to see the full storyboard (I've only completely drawn and colored a few pages) let Steven or me know! I don't trust putting all of the pictures online just yet.

Theodore Thumbs

Steven Moore wrote a script for a children's book and was looking for an illustrator. He chose me! Unfortunately, I will not give away the story since we don't have a publisher yet. But here is the boy I made! His name is Theodore Thumbs.

Let me know what you think in the comments, Please!

The Infamous All Nighter!

Well folks this might be my last Optimist cartoon (I might have a small one in the graduate paper), but this does not mean the cartoons will ever stop coming! Be looking for more cartoons by me as I enter the summer of the unknown.

Bonus Cartoon!

Hey folks,

This cartoon will never be in the Optimist paper, however, I felt the need to share it with everyone who likes my stuff! Let's just say this one was requested by someone, and it has only recently been put into commission because I was too stupid too realize how great an idea it is...

We Want Chalk Back!

Chalk used to be the primary way to get the word around. Then ACU banned it.

Welcome to ACU Jail...

(This cartoon in the paper had an error in the disco ball. My apologies. It is fixed in the above image)

Pleding Changes Next Semester

Next semester, the rules for pledging will be reduced down. "No more calisthenics" (physical activity). Nothing is final, but that is the word on the street.

So, based on that premise I made this cartoon:

No Cartoon Today!!

Panic in the newspaper today! SA Elections are apparently more important than humorous cartoons...

So what is a cartoonist to do?!?

I realized my very FIRST cartoon in the Optimist was not a part of my blog!

Here it is folks. Back when the construction of the Recreational Center was just pipes...

Rebecca Black/Learning Studio

The Learning Studio upstairs in the library was added earlier this semester. Inside it is all sorts of cool stuff, from video editing tools, to giant macs. But the most ridiculous feature is the 3-D tv. I'm not sure what I'd use it for, but certainly not to watch "Friday" by Rebecca Black.

Graphic Novel Style Cartoon

This has nothing to do with ACU specifically or any article in the paper. It is however, my experimentation with Graphic Novel style of cartooning.

Jacob's Jacuzzi

This is a random campus reference cartoon. Jacob's Dream/Ladder has a little bathtub/baptismal (?) and I felt like poking fun at it.
